Background

Asunción is considered the “legal capital” of South America, as it is the seat, inter alia, of the MERCOSUR Permanent Revision Tribunal, the MERCOSUR Legal-Academic Center and the American Association of Private International Law (ASADIP). The city saw the organization of the I Latin American Arbitration Conference in June, 2009, an activity with great repercussions throughout the world. More than thirty arbitrators of renowned global and regional prestige participated before an audience of more than one thousand people.

We expect the 2010 Conference will also be memorable and even surpass the previous year’s success. more

Alongside the Conference, additionally, here in Asunción a “pre-moot” will be held, organized with the Moot Madrid 2010 more
